Ranji Trophy Returns: BCCI Releases India’s 2021-22 Home Calendar, To Conduct 2127 Matches 

The Board of Management for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday launched the schedule for the Ranji Trophy, for the upcoming 2021-22 season.

The brand new season of the India’s premier home cricket event will begin on September 21, 2021 and can be accomplished in a three-month window. As many as 2127 video games can be performed throughout numerous age teams. 

As per the introduced schedule, the season will kick off with the Senior Ladies’s One Day League, adopted by the Senior Ladies’s One Day Challenger Trophy. There can be 160 matches within the One Day League whereas the Challenger Trophy includes 4 matches.

The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20) will start from October 20 whereas the Vijay Hazare Trophy (One Day) will happen from February 23, 2022. The Ranji Trophy will begin on November 16 and run until February 19. The format stays unchanged with 38 groups divided into 4 teams–A, B, C and Plate.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah mentioned in a press release on Saturday mentioned, “The BCCI is confident of hosting the domestic season with health and safety of players and all people involved being paramount.” 

It’s value noting that the matches will run parallel to the T20 World Cup.
