In what comes as a serious setback for the Bharatiya Janata Social gathering (BJP) which has been using excessive after consecutive victories within the nation’s basic elections, Sri Lanka’s Election Fee Chairman Nimal Punchihewa on Monday categorically said India’s ruling social gathering can’t arrange a political unit within the island nation because the nation’s electoral legislation doesn’t allow such an association.
Punchihewa mentioned,“any Sri Lankan political party or group is permitted to have external links with any party or group overseas”.
“But our electoral laws do not permit overseas political parties to work here,” PTI quoted Punchihewa as saying.
